Swachh Survekshan 2021 survey
On 26th November, President Ram Nath Kovind gave away the Swachh Survekshan awards and the cleanest city was bagged by Indore fifth time in a row.
The cleanest state in the annual cleanliness survey was Chhattisgarh and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh was ranked the cleanest Ganga town. Chief minister of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan also congratulated the citizens of Indore maintaining the stature and attaining the feat of India's cleanest for the fifth time successively.
Expectations from the collaborators: It also welcomes participation of citizens in increasing the cleanliness of their city/town, ensuring sustainable measures taken for garbage disposal and making cities free of open defecation and to create equitable awareness among various sections of society for working cohesively to make their towns more liveable.
Incentives: The second position was won by Surat in Gujarat and was also second last year. The third and fourth cleanest cities were Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai respectively.

‘Swachh Survekshan 2021’ awards in association with the Quality Council of India (QCI) as part of the Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban (SBM-U) and is becoming the “world's largest urban cleanliness survey.” The objective of the survey is to encourage residents of Indian cities and towns to implement such steps in a timely and innovative way.
